New Moon in Aquarius

Friday, January 27, 2017, 6:08 PM central

Aquarius ConstellationThe new moon is a time of beginnings and opportunities. This is a time of manifestation, making choices, making plans. Jan Spiller published a book, New Moon Astrology, which is one of a few books I keep close. I recommend getting a copy, if you don’t already own it. I also recommend you go to Jan’s website to calculate your Grandaddy Power Period. This period is unique to each person’s chart, based on when the Sun is transiting the 11th House of your birth chart. The 11th is the house of Karma. Follow her suggestion and use this as your first wish, “I want to easily cut through any fears or negativity that may arise in the month following my Power Period, and emerge with flying colors.” This truly will help ease your mind when the powerful changes start happening.

What to do

You have until 2:08 AM (central) to write down 2 – 10 wishes by hand. Write them simply and in plain language. Let your intuition guide you, not logic. Wish what you mean, not what you think you should, not what you aren’t sure about. Date and keep what you write (I use sticky notes in a paper calendar). Don’t waste your wishes on other people, they are yours and yours alone, and they should never be used to influence the will of anyone else.

Once you have written down your 2 – 10 wishes, let the Universe have them. If you notice new opportunities, take them. They are the gift you asked for. Change can be a little difficult, especially if you’re afraid or don’t believe you can have what you want. Try your best to remain calm and believe this can be yours. I write to get myself through fearful or uncomfortable times. If you’re not good with words, draw, dance, sing, get out in nature, whatever you need to do.

What’s special about a moon in Aquarius?

Wishes you might want to think about involve innovative ideas, long-range goals, interest in the good of your larger community, excitement, manifesting dreams, giving and receiving platonic love, fear of involvement, and health issues related to circulation, ankles and calves, cramps and spasms, and varicose veins. Try soaking your feet in a warm bath before you sit down to write. Consciously take an inventory of your physical body. This will ground you and focus your mind.

New Moon in Aries

New Moon in Aries

The new moon is a time of beginnings and opportunities. I’m in the middle of mine right now, and big changes are in the wind for me.

Happy New Year!

We are celebrating the birth of the new year with a Super Moon. This is the closest the Moon will be to the Earth in 2016. We won’t see this moon, but we will feel how super charged it is. Use this power wisely, especially since both Saturn and Jupiter are in retrograde. You might want to take a little extra time this month to meditate on the changes you want to bring into your life. It will set the tone for your next 12 months.

What to do

You have until today at 2:25 PM (central) to write down 2 – 10 wishes by hand.

What’s special about a moon in Aries?

Wishes you might want to think about involve taking risks, self-direction, courage, impatience, and health issues related to headaches and dizziness, eyes, acne, and anything above the neck. Wash and massage your face and wash your hair before you sit down to write. Seat yourself in a comfortable place, and plug into the current retrograde energies that surround you. Using the Saturn energy, sit quietly with your feelings of fear and restriction. Let them speak to you and offer you guidance. Are they in place to protect you, allow you to rest, give you structure to fulfill responsibilities? Picture the Jupiter energy like the drawing back of a bow. Meditate on the energy that is gathering while you feel stuck or slow. Next, combine those images with the strength and courage Mars offers. Allow it to speak directly to your fears and your stagnation. Now write.

April is the perfect month for asparagus and leafy greens, like kale, rocket, and lettuce. I enjoy asparagus grilled or sauteed in olive oil and a little spring onion. This is the season to enjoy fresh, new life! This is the season to move boldly towards your dreams! Blessings on your journey!

This New Moon is considered a Super Moon. This is also the time of a Total Solar Eclipse. This solar eclipse will super charge tonight’s new moon. According to Jamie Partridge of Astrology King, “It means that all possibilities are on the table and you can rightly put yourself in the forefront of new plans for the future.” This super charged energy will affect us until September. Use these months wisely. Be careful to set only the things in motion you want to see come to fruition.

What to do

You have until tomorrow at 3:56 AM (central) to write down 2 – 10 wishes by hand. Write them simply and in plain language. Let your intuition guide you, not logic. Wish what you mean, not what you think you should, not what you aren’t sure about. Date and keep what you write (I use sticky notes in a paper calendar). Try soaking your feet in a warm bath before you sit down to write. Seat yourself in a comfortable place, and pay attention the subtle energies around you.

Something yummy

March is the time we start dreaming about spending lazy afternoons in nature. Oranges are in season and there are so many varieties. Buy a few and either go out in nature (if weather permits) or sit by the window. Notice the way the fruit feels on your tongue. Taste how sweet it is. Savor this time. Spring is almost here, and life can be as sweet as those oranges.

New Moon in Aquarius

Void of Course

The Moon is considered Void of Course when it has passed through its last major aspect to a planet before entering into a new sign. This transitional time lends instability. Wishes made while the Moon is Void of Course will either not come to pass, or will not turn out as you imagined. This month the Moon will be Void of Course from 8:40 AM until 2:31 PM (central). So, wait about six hours before you make your wishes.

What to do

You have a narrow window from 2:32 PM until 4:40 PM (central) to write down 2 – 10 wishes by hand. Write them simply and in plain language. Let your intuition guide you, not logic. Wish what you mean, not what you think you should, not what you aren’t sure about. Date and keep what you write (I use sticky notes in a paper calendar). New Moon in Virgo

Sunday, September 13, 2015, 1:42 AM central

VirgoThe new moon is a time of beginnings and opportunities. Yes, it works

I have struggled with neck and shoulder tension my entire life, even as a child. Last March, I wrote these wishes:
I wish for healthy shoulders that are free of hurt, anger, depression, and stress.
I wish for a healthy neck that is free of pain, anger, resentment, and self-loathing.
I wish to let go of the parts of my past that no longer teach me. I can remember them, but cease to experience them over and over.

A week or so later, during a chiropractic session, I had a vision of myself hanging. I immediately thought, “that makes sense!” It sounds much less comforting than it was. But, at that point I knew what I had asked to let go from my past, was deeper than I originally imagined.

A few months later, I traveled to Boston on business. I made plans to meet some people while I was there, including a long-lost cousin. This cousin makes her living doing energy work, and she is wildly talented. I had distracting pain on the left side of my neck, and she offered to work on me at the “family discount.” During our session, she discovered four of my lives had ended in hanging. While in dialog she found that none of them were my choice, and one had been in Salem. “I thought they burned witches, but it looks like you were hung. I don’t think you were hung for witchcraft. I think you pissed off somebody by speaking your mind.”

I find it interesting that this cousin comes from the side of my family that always claimed Cotton and Increase Mather as ancestors. Cotton was responsible for the Salem Witch Trials and was a judge in many cases. I find the combination of judge in ancestry and accused in past life chilling. Don’t let my experiences keep you from wishing. You aren’t likely to have such a dramatic experience in your own wishing. If you do, stay calm and let these experiences wash over you. They are simply clearing the way for what you asked.

What to do

You have until later today at 9:42 AM (central) to write down 2 – 10 wishes by hand. Write them simply and in plain language. Let your intuition guide you, not logic. Wish what you mean, not what you think you should, not what you aren’t sure about. Date and keep what you write (I use sticky notes in a paper calendar). I write to get myself through fearful or uncomfortable times. If you’re not good with words, draw, dance, sing, get out in nature, whatever you need to do.

What’s special about a moon in Virgo?

The moon in Virgo makes us want to put things in order. Wishes you might want to think about involve exercise, work, details, discernment, conscientiousness, bringing order out of chaos, blame, and health issues related to digestion and elimination. Clear your work space before you sit down with your wishes. This will keep you from getting distracted…

Something yummy

September is the beginning of apple season. It’s not hard to make your own apple sauce. In a small, heavy sauce pan, dice three of your favorite, crisp apples. Add a splash of water, a square inch of ginger root, and some cracked black pepper. Keep the apples moving over low heat until they become very soft (you should be able to smash them with the back of a spoon). Add honey to taste. Leaving the peels on the apples and smashing them with a spoon makes this a rustic treat. If you want something more refined, peel the apples before you put them on the heat, and use an immersion blender to make them smooth. Enjoy over waffles, on toast, or as a side dish or dessert.

New Moon in Leo

Friday, August 14, 2014, 9:54 AM central

Constellation LeoThe new moon is a time of beginnings and opportunities. This is a time of manifestation, making choices, making plans. Jan Spiller published a book, New Moon Astrology, which is one of a few books I keep close. I recommend getting a copy, if you don’t already own it. I have been wishing on new moons for well over a year. I have had some powerful experiences as a result. As a warning, it is not for the faint-hearted or the wishy-washy. Pledge now to only say what you mean, and to harm none.

Before you start

Jan mentions a period, called the Grandaddy Power Period. This period is unique to each person’s chart, based on when the Sun is transiting the 11th House of your birth chart. The 11th is the house of Karma. Honestly, I am not an Astrological guru, but I trust Jan Spiller. I also trust my experiences. Click the link to calculate this period and use her suggested first wish, “I want to easily cut through any fears or negativity that may arise in the month following my Power Period, and emerge with flying colors.”

Yes, it works

When I started wishing, it was something I did to give myself direction. At the very least, I believed it would help me focus my mental energy, or meditate. I thought it might make me feel better. I’d try it and see if it helped. Within a few months, my life changed dramatically. I started noticing opportunities and started taking them. I was also fired from a soul-crushing job. That experience proved to me that this is not for sissies. I took some time to decompress and then took a job that was a perfect match for my skills and interests. I am respected by my boss and coworkers. I believe wishing each new moon and during my Grandaddy has made a powerful impact on my life. I will talk more about these experiences in future posts, but let’s get to wishing.

What to do

You have until 4:54 PM (central) to write down 2 – 10 wishes by hand.

I write to get myself through fearful or uncomfortable times. If you’re not good with words, draw, dance, sing, get out in nature, whatever you need to do.

What’s special about a moon in Leo?

The moon in Leo makes us want to have fun. Wishes you might want to think about involve romance, creativity, self-actualization, loyalty, generosity, joy, play, parties, vacations, self-confidence, leadership, stamina, pride, extravagance, spinal or back issues, the heart, exhaustion, and inflammation. Do something fun before you sit down with your wishes. It might make them flow a little easier…
