Nine of Pentacles

Interpretation

Nine of PentaclesHere we see a woman alone in her own garden. She appears to be wealthy and commands the falcon she is holding. This is very obviously an image of abundance.

When you receive this card, like other Nines, it feels like you have made it. The Pentacles indicate this wealth is physical in nature. Perhaps you have made good investments, or your garden is flourishing. You may find yourself enjoying the fruits of hard labor, finally able to rest after completing your work. You might also find yourself alone.

Time alone can be healing. It can be an opportunity to look within and chart your next course. If you don’t want to be alone, simply wait. The Ten of Pentacles is coming soon, and it promises community. For now, simply enjoy the freedom and feeling of accomplishment that come with doing a job well.

Interactions

The Suit — Pentacles, Coins, or Diamonds

The pentacle is a symbol of earth magic. The coin is wealth and wages. The diamond is a symbol of wealth, pulled from the ground and refined by human hands into something enduring and elegant. This suit represents all things related to the earth. It represents the work of our hands. It represents those conspicuous signs of wealth that show us and our neighbors how successful we are, but this is merely material wealth. We can pass this on to the next generation, but it is worthless if we choose to bury it with ourselves.

The Number — 9

Nine represents completion, solitude, and protection.
