Strength

Interpretation

StrengthThe Chariot is a card of exerting your will on the outside world. Strength, on the other hand, uses that power within. It is what calls us to use our stronger emotions for growth.

When you receive this card, it is time to rely on your inner strength. You might feel this nudge when you are angry or afraid. It is simply reminding you that you are already strong enough, even if you don’t feel it. Our risks often propel us forward into our dreams. This is your time to summon up what has been in you all this time, and bravely face the challenge.

So, take the challenge. Dive in and use your anger to change something. Use your fear to guide you through an opportunity for growth. These strong emotions are a soul gift. Accept them, and don’t look back.

The Major Arcana

The twenty-two cards of the Major Arcana tend to hold the big lessons. These cards carry powerful messages. If you are reading a spread of cards, watch for the Major Arcana. If your spread contains more than 30% Major Arcana, you are in the midst of something big, or beyond your control. If most of the cards in the spread are from the Major Arcana, you might be trying to exert too much control. You might have trouble expressing your feelings, or you might be near your breaking point. A spread without any Major Arcana cards could indicate you are hiding from the truth of the issue, or are in some deep distress. If this is the case, it is important to find someone you can trust to guide you through this period of time. In a spread, focus most of your attention on the Major Arcana. The other cards will be useful for clarifying the situation.

Number — 8

Eight is a number of movement, power, and adjustment.

Interactions

Strength intensifies the other cards in a spread.

Major Arcana

Chariot: When Strength comes before the Chariot, considerable effort is necessary to succeed, but you will succeed. If Strength comes after the Chariot, it indicates strength in future trials.
Death: When Strength comes before Death, it suggests a serious, but not fatal illness. When the inverted Strength card comes after inverted Death, it indicates a narrow escape.
Tower: Strength adds a great deal more power to the energy of the Tower.
