You are in danger of giving either too much or too little. Take a close look at your relationship with money. What do you expect from it? How do you believe it is going to come into your hands? Are you repaying the debts you promised? Are others repaying the loans you gave them? Are you gambling? Have you gotten involved in a get rich quick scheme? How do you spend or horde your money?
This might not be an issue with money specifically. These pentacles also look like clock faces. How are you spending your time? Do you have a good balance of work, rest, and play? It’s time to scrutinize your physical life and bring it into balance. This will be the first step in your healing.
The Six of Pentacles only interacts with the Emperor.
Emperor: Any cards from the suit of Pentacles can indicate an offer of a position of authority. This position is likely to involve finance and carry heavy responsibilities.
The Suit — Pentacles, Coins, or Diamonds
The pentacle is a symbol of earth magic. The coin is wealth and wages. The diamond is a symbol of wealth, pulled from the ground and refined by human hands into something enduring and elegant. This suit represents all things related to the earth. It represents the work of our hands. It represents those conspicuous signs of wealth that show us and our neighbors how successful we are, but this is merely material wealth. We can pass this on to the next generation, but it is worthless if we choose to bury it with ourselves.
The Number — 6
Six is a number of knowledge, perfection, and exchange.
There is nothing to fear with an inversion. Mary K. Greer explains in her book, The Complete Book of Tarot Reversals, that an inverted card may be interpreted in one or more of these twelve ways:
- Blocked or Resisted
- Delayed, Difficult, Unavailable
- Inner, Unconscious, Private
- New or Dark Moon (if you are reading cards from a round deck)
- Breaking Through, Overturning, Refusing, Changing Direction
- The Opposite of the Upright Meaning, or Lacking
- Misused or Misdirected
- The Upright Meaning Backward
- A Rectification or Cure
- Magical, Unconventional, or Humorous
